Risk Disclaimer

Version 2026-08-05.1, effective when accepted at signup

Not financial advice

StratosTrader is a software tool that automates order placement according to a grid trading strategy you configure. Nothing in the Service, its outputs, its marketing, or any communication from its operator constitutes financial, investment, tax, or legal advice, or a recommendation to buy or sell any security. You are solely responsible for deciding whether and how to trade.

Real money is at risk

When connected to a live (non-paper) brokerage account, the Service places real orders with real money in your Alpaca account. You can lose some or all of the money you allocate to this strategy. Past performance, backtests, or paper-trading results shown in the Scenario Simulator are illustrative only and are not a reliable indicator of future results.

Leveraged ETFs can lose money quickly

StratosTrader is commonly used to trade 3x leveraged exchange-traded funds. These instruments use derivatives and daily rebalancing to amplify the daily return of an underlying index. That amplification cuts both ways: a leveraged ETF can lose a substantial fraction of its value in a single trading day, and its long-term returns can diverge significantly from a simple multiple of the underlying index's return, especially in volatile or sideways markets. Do not use this strategy with money you cannot afford to lose.

No guarantee of profit

A grid trading strategy does not guarantee a profit and can produce a loss in any market condition, including trending markets that move persistently in one direction without reverting. You are responsible for choosing grid parameters (step size, quantity per rung, maximum position, and any guard settings) appropriate to your own risk tolerance.

Software provided as-is; no guarantee of uptime

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranty of any kind, express or implied. Software bugs, connectivity interruptions, brokerage API outages, exchange halts, and hosting/infrastructure failures can all prevent the Service from executing trades as configured, including failing to place a protective order after a fill. The operator does not guarantee any level of uptime and is not liable for losses resulting from downtime, delayed execution, missed fills, or software defects.

Your responsibility

By using the Service you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Risk Disclaimer and accept full responsibility for your own trading decisions and their outcomes.
